YAMUNOTRI TEMPLE

Yamunotri temple was built in the 19th century in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and
was damaged and rebuilt twice due to the damages inflicted by the natural disasters.
 Dedicated to Yamuna River, which is the second holiest river of India, the temple
also forms the part of the four Chota Char Dham sites.
Located at the height of 3291 meters, the shrine of Mother Yamuna holds the idol of Goddess,
which is built in black marble. The temple opens up on the day of Akshaya Tritiya and
closes on the day after Diwali. Mother Yamuna spends the winter at a nearby village
 known as village Kharsali. The area around the Yamunotri temple doesn’t have any
 motorable roads, so it has to be reached by trekking for a few kilometers.
The surroundings of the Yamunotri temple have many hot water springs to
 the delight of the visiting pilgrims.

KASHI VISHWANATH TEMPLE

Located in the ancient and holy city of Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Kashi Vishwanath
 temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, also referred to as Vishwanath or Vishweshwara,
 meaning emperor of the universe. 
The city of Varanasi is also known as Kashi that is why the temple is famously
 called Kashi  Vishwanath temple.


The distinguished temple has been visited by many great holy men like Swami Vivekanand,
 Adi Shankaracharya, Goswami Tulsidas and Gurunanak. 
The merit or the blessings received from sighting jyotirling at Kashi Vishwanath
is equal to that earned from visiting the rest of the 11 jyotirlings placed 
at several areas in India. A visit to the sacred temple of Shiva is
 believed to be one of the ways through which one can attain Moksha 
(ultimate liberation of the soul).

KEDHARNATH TEMPLE

Kedharnath temple is situated in the himalayan range of garhwal area(uttrakand),Kedharnath Temple is one of the most sacred shiva temples in the world.This holy abode of shiva is said to be build by the pandavas to atone for their sins committed during their battle with kauravs.The temple was restored by Adi Sankaracharya in 8th century.It is one of the Chota Char Dhams of Uttrakhand and requires a pilgrim to walk a distance of 14 Kms over the hilly surface.One can make use of a pony or manchan to simlify the journey.

Surrounded by the glaciers and snow-covered peaks and standing at a heigth of 3,583m,the temple is closed during winters due to severe cold conditions.Even the idol of lord shiva is shifted to ukhimath and worshipped there throughout the 5\6 months for which the extreme condition prevail.

BADRINATH TEMPLE

Sitiuated close to the Alakanda River,The Abode of lord Badrinath is located in the chamoli District,a town of Badrinath.This holy shrine of lord vishnu forms a part of the four holiest sites(char Dhams) in Hindu religion.It is also one of the four chota char dham pilgrimage sites.
It is one of the 108 temples dedicted to lord vishnu(Diviya Desams),which find mention in the works of tamil saints who existed from 6th to 9th century.

The ancient abode of lord vishnu can be visited only between April to November as in the rest of the months the weather is too harsh for undertaking a pilgrimage journey. The two famous festivals related to the temple are-

Mata Murti-Ka-Mela- In which the mother of Lord Badrinath is worshipped and it takes place in the month of september.
Badri-Kedar Festival- Extending to 8 days, it takes place in the month of june and is celebrated in both the temple of Badrinath and Kedarnath.

Thiruevvul (or Veerarghavaswamy Temple) is a temple dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu, located in Thiruvallur, a town and headquarters in Tiruvallur district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD. It is counted as one among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. Vishnu is worshipped as Veeraraghava Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Kamalavalli Thayar.The temple is believed to be of significant antiquity and is believed to be initiated by the Pallavas of the late 8th century AD, with later contributions at different times from Thanjavur Nayaks. The temple has three inscriptions dating from the Chola period. The temple has a seven-tiered rajagopuram (gateway tower) and enshrined within a granite wall. The complex contains all the shrines and the temple tank is located to the west of the temple.

Veerraghava Perumal is believed to have appeared to marry his consort Lakshmi in the place. The temple observes six daily rituals and three yearly festivals. The chariot festival and float festival, celebrated during the Tamil month of Chittirai (March–April), is the most prominent festival of the temple. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The Kothandaramaswamy temple at Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu is a shrine dedicated to the Hindu deity Rama. Located at Distance of 13 kilometers from Rameswaram, it forms the southernmost tip of the island. The temple is the only historical structure to survive the 1964 cyclone that washed away Dhanushkodi. The temple has the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita and Vibhishana. The temple is surrounded by sea and remains a tourist attraction. It is easily accessible from Rameswaram.

Penchalakona is a very ancient sacred place (pilgrim center). Lord Narasimha manifested himself here as a huge of rock in "Yoga mudra" (in an entwined contemplative posture) and hence it required the name of "Penusila"(huge rock) and in course of time became famous as "Penchalakona".Legend has it that after slaying the demon Hiranya Kasipa, Lord Narasimha bathed in Penchalakona and withdrew that "Avatara"(incarnation) of Narasimha, shedding his anger and ferocity. The Lord here goes by the name of Somasila Narasimhaswamy and has become one of the Nava Narasimhas(nine manifestations).

Ahobilam is a holy site in the Allagadda mandal of Kurnool district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located 70km from Nandyal and 150km from Kurnool, the district headquaters. There are two temple houses,lower Ahobilam. According to legend, this is where Lord Narasimha blessed Prahlada and Killed the demon Hiranyakashipu. The temple follows vadakalai mode of worship.

Varadharaja Perumal temple is a hindu temple dedicated to lord vishnu located in the holy city of kancheepuram , Tamilnadu, India. It is one of the divya desams, the 108 temples of Vishnu believed to have been visited by the 12 poet , saints or alwars.It is located in the suburb of kancheepuram known as vishnu kanchi that is a home for many vishnu temples. One of the great hindu scholars of vaishnava visishtadvaita philosophy, ramanuja is believed to have resided in this temple .The temple along with Ekambareshwar temple and kamakshi Amman temple in kancheepuram is popularly known as mumurtivasam, while Srirangam is referred to as 'the kovil ' and Tirupati is known as 'malai'.Among the divya desams , KANCHEEPURAM Varadharaja Perumal temple is known as the Perumal kovil .This is one of the most sacred place for vaishnavites.

    An adobe to lord venkat krishna , Sri parthasarathy temple was built by the Pallavas  in 8th century. Sri parthasarathy temple is situated at triplicane and is the oldest temple in chennai. The main shrine inside the temple is of parthasarathy or venkata krishna and the secondary shrine is of vedavalli thayaar, with that of Narashima and RangaNatha.
             The temple has incarnation of Lord vishnu in his four forms namely Narashima, Rama, varaha, and krishna. It also has shrines which were built during the rule of cholas and Vijayanagara kings.An exquisite feature of the temple is the coloured gopuram. There are two gopurams within the temple one of which is facing the east and the other is facing west. The intricately carved pillars of the temple are sure to leave one spellbound.
              The water tank inside the temple is considered sacred and holy because it is believed that goddess Lakshmi was born to sage bhrigu in the form of vedavalli .The Sri parthasarathy temple also celebrates a floral festival from mid February to mid March .the festival is held at the water tank situated within the premises of the temple.
              Sri parthasarathy temple is thus a spectacular depiction of history, traditional and art of Indian history collated together and is an amazing tourist attraction of chennai.
