PILAIYAAR PATTI KARPAGA VINAYAKAR TEMPLE

Pilaiyaar Patti Pilaiyaar temple is the famous pilaiyaar temple located atThiruppathur(1 km from Thiruppathur Thiruthalli Nathar temple)Sivaganga District in the state of Tamil Nadu,India.The original name of the temple is karpaga vinayakar temple.

    it is believed that the nine kalasams in the gopuram of the temple releves people from dhristris.it is also believed that worshipping kathyayini amman in that temple women get relieved from sevva dhosam which causes delay in marriages

    Scholars says that Lord Vinayaga is the Lord of Wisdom.As Vinayagar satisfies the wishes of his devotees like Karpagam tree ,he is also known "Karpaga Vinayagar".Here Lord Vinayaga appears with 2 hands unlike in other places where he is seen with 4 hands.Also he is seen seated without Angusapasam,with his legs folded and stomach not touching the Asanam in the form of 'Artha Padma' Asanam.

    This temple is the only one in Tamil Nadu which contains a 6 feet rock-cut Pillaiyar deity. The Thumbikai of Lord Pillaiyar is curled towards his right side and so the God is also known as Valampuri Pillaiyar.
